Coverage for people without a group plan.

Self-employed, contracting, between jobs, retiring before Medicare, or covering a family on your own — you have more options than the two you have probably heard about.

Who This Is For

Four situations, four different answers.

The right plan depends far more on your circumstances than on any plan's brochure. Find yourself below.

Self-employed & small owners

You are the business, so you are also the benefits department. Income may vary month to month, which affects both what you can afford and what subsidies you qualify for. If you have even a couple of employees, a small group plan may beat an individual one — worth checking before you assume.

Families

Covering a spouse and kids changes the math. Pediatric care, dental for growing teeth, and a realistic view of how often somebody in a household of five ends up in urgent care. Deductible structure matters more than the headline premium here.

Between jobs or on COBRA

Losing employer coverage opens a special enrollment window — usually 60 days. COBRA keeps the plan you know but at full unsubsidized cost. A marketplace plan with a subsidy is frequently cheaper. Compare both before the window closes.

Early retirees & pre-Medicare

Retiring at 62 means three years to bridge before Medicare, at the ages when premiums are highest. Careful income planning can make a large difference in what you pay, because subsidy eligibility follows modified adjusted gross income.

What We Help With

Coverage available to individuals.

Health insurance

ACA marketplace plans, subsidy eligibility, and alternative plan designs when the marketplace is not a fit. Metal tiers, networks, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, explained without the acronyms.

Health insurance

Life insurance

Term coverage for the years your family is most exposed, whole life when you want protection that does not expire, and a straight answer on how much you actually need.

Life insurance

Dental & vision

Standalone dental and vision plans for households without employer coverage. Modest premiums, immediate use, and the coverage people most often regret skipping.

Accident & critical illness

Cash-benefit coverage that pays you directly when an injury or serious diagnosis happens. Particularly valuable alongside a high-deductible health plan.

Hospital indemnity

A lump sum on admission and a daily benefit for each night in the hospital, paid to you rather than the facility. Helps turn a deductible into something manageable.

How It Works

No cost to talk, no pressure after.

Working with an independent broker costs you nothing directly — carriers build commissions into the premium whether you use a broker or not. What you get is someone who compares options across carriers, answers the phone in April, and helps with a claim when one happens.

If the best answer for you is the marketplace plan you already have, Jeremy will say so.

  • Short call — household size, ages, ZIP code, approximate household income, doctors you want to keep.
  • Options compared — premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and network, side by side.
  • Subsidy check — whether you qualify for premium tax credits and what that changes.
  • Enrollment handled — applications, effective dates, ID cards and confirmations.
  • Someone to call — for the surprise bill, the denied claim, or the next open enrollment.

Bring your questions and your household details. One conversation is usually enough to see the whole picture clearly.
